About A lot of tanks (hundreds of them) were used during recent…

A lot of tanks (hundreds of them) were used during recent Georgian-Russian war. Both sides used soviet-era tanks, Georgian were modified by Ukraine and Israel. We have all seen on tv multiple fully destroyed, burn down skeletons of T-72 on Tshinval streets. It only looks threatening with its cover of bricks of reactive armor. A hit from primitive ancient handheld grenade launcher to its side or turret leads to detonation of all ammunition load with complete destruction of this tank and crew loss. Such tank may not be recovered. Everybody knows it and there are no signs that Russian tank units are to be re-equipped.

Georgian-Russian war? It's not right. The war was between Georgia and South Ossetia.

You are not quite right. The war was between Russia and the USA.

Можно поподробнее об источниках? Вас почитать, так там произошла вторая битва под Прохоровкой. Сотни танков не так-то просто развернуть в горах за восемь часов. И кстати, почему Т-72? Ничего поновее не нашлось?
